It’s one thing to send email marketing letters, but here’s how to get them opened and read!
Creating an effective email marketing campaign is not about blatantly promoting your products.
If your inbox is like mine you get a ton of emails every day telling you about the greatest new product or website you simply must know about! And, if you’re like me, only a few percent of those emails even get opened. So many emails are sent which are just blatant advertising, that most email is regarded as spam, even if it’s been requested.
This article is about how your email marketing campaign can go to your subscribers and get read by almost everyone.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #1
Offer quality of content. If you offer something of value with your subtle email marketing campaign, your email is not going to be seen as spam. In fact, if you offer a quiz, a short article, facts, tips, hints or even a free download offer, your email is more likely to be welcomed.
Once you’ve got their attention, you can use product references inside your email.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #2
In order to keep your advertising subtle, keep your language believable. Outrageous claims, excessive use of exclamation marks and unrealistic promises are for blatant advertising. Your target market will not keep opening your emails and will ignore anything of value you add for them within a very short time.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #3
If you can separate your subscriber list into specialised interest groups, then do so. This way, you can send particular email marketing campaigns to the most targeted, interested list. If you’re sending information to people who have no interest in your product or services, they’re not going to read your emails. If they share an interest, the email seems more personalized. Product references and links can then be added without upsetting your list.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #4
It’s good to write in the first person and to an individual. If you use words such as “they” instead of “you” and “us, our group, our company” instead of “I”, then your email is less likely to be read. When you offer your products or services though, sometimes it’s better to offer it from a third party. That way, it’s not coming across as blatant advertising. Remember, keep your email marketing campaigns very subtle.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #5
Keep references to your own website to a minimum. Mention it at the bottom of your email. Often it’s best to drop links to sites as links within the copy on relevant keywords. This way, it’s clear that the link is to do with the subject. Make sure that any links you do use, are completely relevant to your readers. Offer the links as if they are included to provide the readers with an opportunity to learn more about the subject – which is what they should always be.
Subtle Email Marketing Campaign Tip #6
If you’re not great at copy, it might be worth you considering hiring a freelance copywriter to do some writing for you. Alternatively, you can learn about more about copywriting for yourself with a book full of the gurus own secrets.
Follow the tips in this article and you’ll be well on your way to starting off your subtle email marketing campaigns. The next step is to get your copy of Easy Ezine Profits to learn more techniques to successful and subtle email marketing campaigns.
