Why not use Google Adsense ads to bring colour to your website on special occasions?
You can theme any ad unit in Google Adsense. The normally recommended way to run units on your page are to make them blend in as much as possible, so they don’t look like ads by using the same background colours and font colours as you use on your site.
But in the holiday seasons and on special occassions, why not use your Google Adsense ad campaign units to create a seasonal flair of colour to your website?
For example, red, green and white or gold, silver and white colours are good for Christmas. What about a pumpkin orange background with black text for a Halloween feel, or shades of green for St Patricks Day?
Look at what universal holidays are coming up and work out your campaign. Watch your adsense click through rate and see if it helps or hinders your hit rate.
Just look at what Google does to it’s own front page according to what’s happening with the world. Their very talented artists regularly come up with interesting looks to change their landing page.
