A simple little twitter trick you can use on any page

Designed by Pratika

I was over on another site earlier today and found this information. I know all about it, but had forgotten about it.

How to create your very own “Tweet This” link for absolutely any page!

You know, it’s one of those simple little things you know how to do but forget others might find it useful.

It’s one of those things that gets posted all around the Internet, but unless you are looking specifically for tricks to do with Twitter, how would you find it?

It’s very simple and very easy to do. What you create is a simple little link that says “Tweet This“. When your visitor clicks on the link, they go straight to Twitter and there is the link all filled out ready. All they need to do then is click OK.

You don’t need any software, you don’t need any special plugins. If you can cut and paste, you can do this! It’s Twitter Magic!

You only have to replace my name and my URL with your own.

If you want to know the mechanics here they are:

1st Part of the code send the user to Twitter and tells them to write something:

http://twitter.com/home?status=

The plus signs (+) are spaces in code

%40 is the @ sign that Twitter identifies a user (eg @RebeccaHabel is %40RebeccaHabel in the code)

%27 is the apostrophe (‘) in the word Here’s (eg in code it is Here%27s)

That’s it!

A Final hint: Test your Tweet to make sure it is less than 140 characters!

Happy Tweeting
