Landing Pages are also known as squeeze pages or lead capture pages. They have a specific purpose on your website. They serve one of two purposes. They are there to capture a name and email address, or they are there to sell something.

The easiest landing page to start out with is one that is effectively a lead capture page. That is, it’s sole purpose is to capture the email address of anyone who visits the page. The landing page is the one page you send your visitors to. Of course, you can have more than one landing page on your site if you have multiple offers or want to test variations on a theme.
The following are tips to create a successful landing page that has a high capture rate, that is, most of your site visitors leave their name and email for you to contact them at a later date with your information and promotional materials.
Tip #1
The easiest way to get people to leave their precious email address is to offer them a high value freebie. You can offer a special report, a sample of your product, a checklist, software, tip sheet or whatever is compatible with what you offer. Whatever you offer your visitor, it must be perceived as high value to them in order for them to exchange their information with you.
Tip #2
Your landing page must be professional. If you are writing your page in English, check you are using the right words. Check for grammatical errors as well as spelling errors. Poorly written pages are very off putting for some people.
You don’t have to use a lot of graphics, in fact, it’s best if you don’t overdo it. A clean, well written page will have great results if you spend enough time sharing the benefits of your free product.
Tip #3
Keep all links off your landing page, other than the necessary legal links. There should be nothing to distract your visitor from signing up to your site.
Tip #4
Fill your page with benefits. Let your visitor know why they must get your freebie and why they need it. You need to do everything you can to get them to leave their email.
Tip #5
Consider using your photograph, leaving a contact email or even adding an image of your signature to show your visitors you are a real person. It will help your opt-in subscription rates.
