Email Marketing: How To Convert Visitors Into Subscribers

If someone finds your site through your online marketing campaign efforts and visits, you have very little chance of them returning if you don’t offer them something special to return for. People are impulsive when it comes to the Internet, flitting from one site to another like a butterfly moves from flower to flower.

This means your visitor, no matter how well intentioned, may visit once and never return. If you have a 1000 visitors come to your site and leave without ever returning, you have lost your opportunity with that person forever. You are relying on your visitors either liking your products enough to buy them outright on the first visit, or to bookmark your site.

Even unique content is not an assured way to gaining the loyalty of the Internet surfer, though it is a very important marketing method.

The best long term solution to keeping your visitors returning is to get them onto your mailing list. Email marketing is no longer as simple as it was when the Internet first started. Back then, you offered an ezine and people signed up.

With millions of sites offering ezines, it quickly became information overload, so you must be more original than that.

To begin your email marketing campaign, you must make your offer practically irresistible to your website visitors, so they feel that they are getting good value for trusting you with their email address.

You might offer a free consultation, via email, a webinar invitation, free ebooks or articles, even free products if your ROI is high enough. Whatever you need to offer to get that email address, offer it, because it gives you the opportunity to keep sending information to that person.

Once you have their email address, you can start your email marketing campaign. Use a reputable auto-responder company that can take care of your double opt-in list and allow you to schedule your emails.

Be very good to your opt-in subscribers as they are your main revenue source when treated well and with respect. Never spam them or abuse the privilege of having their address. Make them offers that benefit them, and in return they will thank you financially. Never ever share, sell or rent out their addresses, the small financial gain will not be worth the value of an opt-in subscriber over time to you.

Put your opt-in offer on every page of your website with the exception of your sales pages.

Work on your offer to continue to increase your conversion of visitors into subscribers by testing and measuring often.

Email marketing is one of the best ways to ensure a long term income for yourself when you have a targeted, loyal, opt-in subscriber list.
